Business Development Manager

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a dedicated Business Development Manager to join our fast-growing team based in Manchester. As a business development manager, you’ll identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business to continue to grow. Your work will involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets, or enhancing the operation of the business, position or reputation in some way.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will need to work closely with the Managing Director to understand the services we offer in detail in order to be able to discuss this with clients and potential prospects.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Attend regular networking events to represent the business. 
  • Liaise with the delivery team (SEO, PPC, Social, Web team) in order to understand in detail the services that we offer and what is required for each of the team members when clients come onboard. 
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department, including our outreach projects, ensuring that these are followed up with phone calls each month to ask for feedback from potential prospects. 
  • To be successful in booking meetings in the diary for yourself and the directors from following up on the above marketing projects. 
  • To work closely with Operations Manager to understand the onboarding process for all new clients e.g payment terms, termination notices, payment methods and platforms used for this process. 
  • To assist in creating and writing sales proposals for the directors. 

Skills:

  • Communication – you should have excellent communication skills and telephone manner to be able to speak with clients and potential prospects.
  • Motivation- you should be extremely self-motivated in order to continuously be proactive in following up on leads. 
  • Spelling and grammar should be exceptional. 
  • Time management & punctuality- it is important to be able to manage your own workflow and be on time with deadlines as well as working hours. 
  • Confidence- this role will require confidence in liaising with potential and current clients and being able to discuss the most suitable service package for them. 
  • Relationship building- you should be skilled in the ability to quickly build rapport with clients to maintain a professional relationship with them.
